“Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord… and He will teach us His ways, and we will walk in His paths: for the law shall come forth from Sion, and the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem.”
Isaiah ii. 3
Traditionis Vindices
“The Defenders of Tradition”
Throughout the nearly two thousand years of her existence, the Bride of Christ, The Holy Roman Catholic Church, has endured countless trials and persecutions, both from within and without. Yet she has withstood them all, and shall continue to do so, in fulfillment of Our Lord’s solemn promise: “the gates of hell shall not prevail against her.” (cf. Matt. xvi. 18 VgCl, with English translation)
This website seeks to present the true deposit of faith as something that can be accessed, witnessed, contemplated, and understood in a meaningful and formative way, so that any man or woman who comes upon it cannot help but to desire and express the true faith as Our Lord has left with us through His beloved Apostles. That is, our willful assent to the Word of God, in all fullness and holy truth, as has been made known through His Law and His Prophets, and has been safeguarded by His Holy Church that He has blessed to endure throughout all assaults, all scandals, and all ages.
It aims to establish clear and distinct paths: drawn from the history and fullness of the Church, from her sacred deposit of faith, and from the many contributions of her dutiful and loyal members, so as to provide those who seek deeper understanding with stark and ample evidence of the true nature of the ongoing spiritual warfare of this temporal realm, and to offer guidance on how to proceed as faithful adherents of Our Lord’s One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, in order to preserve her ways and traditions (cf. 2 Thess. ii. 14-15, DRB) until His Triumphant Return (cf. Matt. xxiv. 30, DRB).
Further, it must be noted that, in these current times of confusion, misdirection and misrepresentation, as the Church suffers her way through the scandals of modernism, the synthesis of all heresies (cf. Pascendi Dominici Gregis, 1907, St. Pius X), the name for this lay apostolate, Traditionis Vindices, was taken up as a direct answer to the errors of the Francis Pontificate, specifically regarding his motu proprio, Traditionis Custodes, whereby he revealed the true intent of such a title, “Guardians of Tradition,” by its contents, placing a blackened, iron cage of unjust mandate around the eternal prayer of the Church, the Roman Rite, and appointing the depraved guardians of modernism (that is, the very cardinals and bishops who forsake their stations of authority and responsibility with their tacit agreement and implementation of its poisonous proclamations) at its entrance, thereby barring the faithful from approaching what is their due right and inheritance as professing Catholics of the true apostolic deposit.
